Instruction and support can be adapted to best fit your class and students' needs, from classroom presentations to customized Class Assignment pages.

Below are several ways the librarians can support you and your students. ​
Library orientation
  • Tour of the library space, collection, and/or website
  • Orientation on using the online catalog, placing holds, etc.
  • Accessing eBooks, digital newspapers, etc.
research guidance
  • Research strategies, information/media literacy skills, including evaluating resources​
  • Finding & using primary sources
  • Formatting citations & creating annotated bibliographies​
resource instruction
  • Database instruction, including search techniques, using filters, etc.
  • Tips for using print materials effectively and efficiently (bibliographies, indexes, etc.)
  • Additional online tools for smarter, deeper research (even Google and Wikipedia)

  • Class presentations highlighting titles for specific needs
  • ​One-on-one readers advisory

Public Library Educator Cards


District 207 teachers can get a courtesy educator card from the Park Ridge Public Library. The card can be used to check out library materials for classroom use until May 31.

Cards must be renewed annually via the application form.
